Every 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month we gather for sound healing, meditation, a mindful message, and community connection.

First time here?

Totally normal to feel a little unsure walking into something new, so here's what you can expect!

What it's like: Sunday Service is relaxed, light, and contemplative. We start at 10 AM with a welcome, announcements, a candlelight collective intention, sound bath, guided meditation, a reflective spiritual talk, and a blessing at our dismissal time around 11 (ish).

Our approach is to subvert the cultural familiarity of "church." We meet at prime church time on Sunday morning (10 AM), but instead of a pop-concert-style worship, we engage the Spirit through a sound bath and guided meditation. And instead of a traditional preachy sermon, Luke shares a reflection on the spiritual-human experience that usually organically weaves in themes of Jesus' wisdom and teaching, shaped as well by the influences of Buddhism, Daoism, Advaita Vedanta, Neoplatonism, and esotericism.

Our hope is to give an alternative option for those looking for a kind of church / spiritual community. We are devoted to creating a fresh, creative expression of a familiar form that helps us take a moment of pause from the chaos of the world, tap into Presence together, and remember who we truly are and what we are here on earth to do.

After chat: After every service we offer space to gather in a circle for an opporuntiy to share what's coming up within you from the meditation and talk and hear perspectives and insights from others. It's a small-group vibe, a space to share and be heard, and maybe meet your new best friend. This group is led by either Daniel or Vikki who are both super easy going and always ready to drop in to the deep end of the conversation. This is totally optional to stick around for, but it's one of our favorite parts of the morning.

What to wear: Whatever's comfortable, jeans, activewear, whatever you'd wear on a lazy Sunday morning. There's no dress code here, but do consider that we're gathering together with spiritual intention, and we try to be expressive without being distracting. So if you're headed to the beach after, maybe save the swimsuit for later. 😄

What to bring: Just yourself, with an open mind and open heart. Friends in our community often show up with a journal, water bottle, or coffee, but nothing is required.

Kids/family: Every Sunday we're honored to partner with Betsy from Happy Kids Movement, offering care for kids ages 6 and up.

For "Littles" ages 1-5, our facilitator Tosha offers childcare on the first Sunday of the month. Please note childcare for ages 1-5 is only available on the first Sunday. We hope to offer this at both services in the future as our volunteer team grows.

Parking/arrival: There's plenty of street parking, but we're across the street from two other large churches that meet at the same time, so it can get tight. There's usually availability within a short walk unless there's a major event in Carlsbad Village. A few handicap spots are available in the alley behind the building; if you need one reserved, email us ahead of time and we'll make sure it's saved for you. There's also a large lot at the former Smart & Final; those businesses have closed and the lot is largely empty before demolition, so feel free to park there. As with any street parking in the Village, lock your doors, since there's a fair amount of foot traffic.

Cost: It's totally free, with no expectation of giving. That said, we're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that exists solely on tithes, offerings, and donations from people who believe in this fresh expression of spiritual community. So whether it's your first time or hundredth, we always welcome a contribution of any amount. Tap here to learn more and give to Current.
